Question: Depression? or something more serious?

peacock - Sat Jul 23, 2005 10:45 am

This is to ask for any information anyone can give me on the following situation:

A close friend is suffering from what can only be categorised as Depression- he is tired all the time, has developed insomnia, says he feels emotionally detached and unmoved by anything, yet he is emotionally fragile and often cries in frustration at the way he is feeling. added to that he now complains of a pain in his right eye which has been there for the past 5 days or so. he had a also started having sudden dizzy spells which are intense and feel like 'being hit' and last for only a few seconds. this happens frequently throughout the day. during these dizzy spells he says he feels as though he has completely regained energy and feels normal again but this goes away with his recovery from dizziness.

I was not worried per se at his emotional low but the dizziness and eye-ache do worry me and I would appreciate any feedback on what they would possibly mean. thanks a lot.

The dizziness and eye pain are not part of Depression; your friend needs to be examined by a doctor.
